What the ACA actually does

A premium tax credit, quietly available to most.

If your household income is 100–400% of the Federal Poverty Level, you likely qualify for a subsidy.

Many South Florida families pay $400–$800 a month less than the healthcare.gov sticker price because of these tax credits. The catch: you have to calculate your projected income honestly and enroll inside the right window. We do both with you — for free — at the kitchen table.

Plan types

Four metal tiers, one decision.

The metal tier sets the premium-to-out-of-pocket trade-off. Pick by usage, not by name.

01 — Bronze

Bronze

Lowest premium, highest deductible. Best for healthy individuals who use care infrequently and want catastrophic protection.

02 — Silver

Silver

The sweet spot for most subsidized families. Cost-sharing reductions (CSRs) can dramatically lower deductibles if income qualifies.

03 — Gold

Gold

Higher premium, lower deductible. Best for families with predictable medical needs — chronic conditions, regular specialists, multiple kids.

04 — Platinum

Platinum

Highest premium, lowest deductible. Rarely the right choice unless usage is heavy and subsidy is small — we’ll tell you if it is.

Yes, after a qualifying life event (marriage, birth, adoption). Otherwise we add them at the next Open Enrollment.

No. We’re paid by the carriers when you enroll — the same premium you’d pay direct on healthcare.gov.
